There are eight planets in our Solar System. Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. These planets rotate around the Sun.
The Sun is a star. Just one of the billions in the Milky Galaxy.
Many objects are traveling around the Sun: planets, moons, asteroids, comets, meteorids and a vast amount of dust and gas. The Sun has got a huge force of gravity that keeps all these objects in orbit around it.
The Moon is a ball of rock that orbits Earth. Its surface is full of craters.
The four inner planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars. They are close to the Sun and they have solid rocky surfaces.
Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune are called the outer planets. They are gas giants.
VENUS is hotter than the melting point of lead! The thick cloud around it deadly for humans.
EARTH is the only planet in the Solar System which has liquid water on its surface essentiel for life to exist.
MARS is the Red Planet. It has got two potato-shaped moons: Phobos and Deimos.
JUPITER is the largest planet. It is a gas giant. The colorful red, white, brown and yellow bands are actually clouds in its atmosphere.
SATURN is the second largest planet with bright and wide rings.
URANUS and NEPTUNE are huge globes with blueish color.
